CheckListr Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 12, 2025
Your privacy is important to us. Here’s a simple breakdown of how
CheckListr handles your data when you use our application.
What does CheckListr do?
CheckListr is a standalone desktop application that connects to your
Google Account, allowing you to manage your Google Tasks directly from
your computer. It serves as a window to view and modify your tasks data
stored with Google.
To make the app work, we require your permission to access the
following data from Google:
- Your Basic Profile Information (name, email
address). This is used only to authenticate your account and display
your profile within the app.
- Your Google Tasks Data. This includes your task
lists, individual tasks, and task details (like notes and due dates).
This access is necessary to display your tasks and to save any changes
you make back to your Google Account.
Our use of this information is strictly limited to providing and
improving CheckListr’s core feature of managing your Google Tasks. We do
not use your data for any other purpose.
Where is your data stored?
Your data is stored in two places:
- Google’s Servers (Cloud): All of your task data is
primarily stored and secured on Google’s servers.
- Locally on Your Device: To provide offline access,
a copy of your task data is stored in a local file on your computer.
When you go online, any changes you made are synchronized back to Google
Tasks.
We do not store, copy, or back up your task data on
our own servers.
Is my data shared with
anyone?
No. We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information
or tasks data with any third parties.
The only data movement occurs securely between the CheckListr app on
your computer and Google’s servers for the sole purpose of synchronizing
your tasks.
How to Control and Delete
Your Data
You have full control over your data.
- Deleting Tasks: You can delete individual tasks or
entire task lists directly within CheckListr or any other Google Tasks
application. Since the data lives in your Google Account, deleting it in
one place will delete it everywhere.
- Revoking App Access: To revoke access, visit your
Google
Account Permissions page and remove CheckListr from the
list of connected apps.
- Deleting Local Data: Uninstalling the CheckListr
application from your computer will permanently delete its local data
cache and stored login token.
